Living in the Delta features HCMH in August issue

A feature-length article in August issue of Living in the Delta magazine focuses on the progress that has been made at the Humphreys County Memorial Hospital in Belzoni.
The article makes note of the physical changes and improvements in the appearance of the hospital and the addition of new equipment.

The article says, however, that the major change is in the spirit of personnel which benefits the people of Humphreys County and surrounding area.

In an extensive interview with CEO Ray Shoemaker, the article highlights the support that has been shown by local government and citizens.

“People who work here have a passion for their work that allows us to give the community quality health care. But it is not only our hospital personnel who have that passion. The members of the Humphreys County Board, the Hospital Board and the people of the community also have that passion,” Shoemaker said.

“They have stood behind us and worked to keep the hospital operating and growing into a facility of which we can be proud.”

The hospital is adding kidney dialysis and ventilator capabilities and acquiring a new CT scan.
In the last six months the hospital has added 60 new employees.

“It has been a privilege to work with the medical personnel here. Although they could work anywhere they want, they choose to work here in the Delta where they can make a difference in their community,” Shoemaker said.
